Fixes a plethora of audio-related bugs.

  • Starting a recording with a microphone is now way less likely to fail

Screen cropping and audio improvements

  • A crop option is now available when preparing to record a screen, allowing you to record only a portion of the screen. Thanks to @ItsEeleeya for contributing this!
  • Audio inputs with with >2 channels can now be recorded. The first 2 channels will be recorded as stereo, the rest will be discarded.
  • Audio encoding during export is now done with macOS's built-in AAC encoder
  • If any part of the recording pipeline (capture or encode) fails, the recording will be immediately stopped
  • Webview devtools are now exposed

Performance improvements, zoom bug fixes and more

  • The editor now uses a more perforant video decoder that provides much smoother playback and seeking. If you experience any issues loading the editor, please let us know.
  • Zoom segments now behave as expected and transition smoothly between each other.
  • Logs generated during recording are now captured and written to {recording_path}/recording-logs.log.
  • Camera capture has been simplified such that it should use slightly less CPU.

Audio input + visual fixes

  • Audio inputs with high sample rates (>48khz) are now opened with the highest available sample rate supported by the encoder. This should fix issues that have been reported with Macbook Pro mics and some high-end audio interfaces.
  • Sample rate selection now orders the options from highest to lowest, as opposed to randomly
  • Editing the cursor size was accidentally enabled, it's now disabled but will be coming back soon
  • Color inputs now look good in dark mode

Activity, Transcript, and Analytics on the Share Page

The share page now has a proper sidebar. Comments, the transcript, and view analytics live in tabs next to the video instead of below it.
