In this video I introduce BYD Australia's new early VIN data access feature designed to support operation planning and accelerate the sales process. I explain that historically users had to wait until payment was completed and the vehicle reached RDC dispatch status before they could view full vehicle details. Responding to that feedback, we now allow you to access VIN information much earlier – as soon as a shipping order is created and the RDC completes allocation, even if allocation is only partial and before payment is finalized.
I walk through the steps to retrieve the data: log in to the CRM, go to the Procurement module and open the "Allocated Main Details" report. From there you can search by purchase order or shipping order, view the order VINs, and export the results to Excel. This early access lets you prepare internal documentation and schedule customer deliveries in advance, shortening lead times.
I also cover critical data‑management points. The exported data is a snapshot intended solely for planning; allocations can occasionally change. Therefore, before uploading any VINs into your Dealer Studio retail system you should reconfirm that the VINs are still assigned to you. If a VIN changes after upload, you will need to manually delete the old VIN and update it with the correct one. By using the snapshot as a reference tool you can maintain data accuracy while reducing lead time.
